Does anyone have a recommendation on payment services from person to person OTHER then paypal. Maybe moneybookers? Has anyone used this service and can provide insights to their security? Thanks

My credit union charges 5.00 to transfer money from my account to any account in the world. Have you asked your bank how much they would charge? Do not do Western Union, they are expensive!! Within the US, Walmart charges 5.00 to send 50.00. I do not know if they do larger amounts or what the fees are. You do not say where you are sending the cash.

There are services (one i have used in Beverly Hills CA) that will sell you checks in pounds for a fee (approx $10 as I recall), my bank charges more than that for a transfer. The transferee also usually pays a fee to their bank It is easier and eliminate fees for both you and your friend if you pay him/her in cash when you arrive and pick up your tickets. And how well you trust your "newly found friend". Just make sure that this is not a tout selling fake or non existent tickets. If you just send untraceable money that may be the last you see of it or them. Just saying to be careful.
