Penn Club ?

Anyone stayed at the Penn Club, or know of it at all. It is a Quaker club that offers rooms very cheap, near to Royal British Museum. I have read all four reviews on T.A,, and three were good( one I discounted at itself being weird).
Does anyone have any offerings on that? I do not need fancy, clean and SAFE neighborhood is all I care about.

Thanks.

I had forgotten about this place. I was interested in it a number of years ago and so I just went to the website to remind myself about it. Personally, I think it is very spartan and only "very cheap" if you book one of their "budget" rooms with no facilities and I do mean a bathroom. Furthermore, no TVs in any of the rooms. I love to turn on the telly in the morning to hear the news and see what the weather will be, and also when we return at night to our hotel room I like to veg out with the TV on.

Hmm, good point about no tv. I don't intend to watch alot of it, but, it is nice to watch a bit before bed,,especially when travelling solo. I will have to think about it.

Thanks for reply.

I will agree with Norma about the Penn Club's budget rooms being rather spartan. I stayed there in 2003 in a budget room on the 4th floor. They did not have an elevator then. However it fit my budget at the time. The price of the room did include breakfast and it was a good breakfast. The first time I had kippers for breakfast. The lack of TV and radio is for philosophical reasons I believe. The Penn club is also a short walk from three railroad stations and the British Library. I would love to get back to London one of these days
