Just how bad is it? A friend and I(females in our 20's) are staying in the Peckham Lodge. I'm prepared mentally for this budget "hotel". But have some concerns about the neighborhood. Thank you in advance for any input.

Emmie I have friends who are bringing up two children quite happily there, and we are planning to house sit for them for a few days in August and are anticipating a pleasant stay. Like any city area outside the centre it can be mixed, and it is sensible to walk quickly out of any area where you feel uncomfortable, but I wouldn't worry overmuch.
