Paddy's Palace Derry/Belfast Paddy Wagon tours

I am looking to take tennagers (8-12 grade) to NOrthern Ireland in June. I have been doing this for several years doing everything on my own. I have been researching Paddy's palace and paddy wagon tours and was wondering if anyone has in thoughts on them. The purpose of the trip is to introduce students to the history and culture of Ireland. Part of that is introducing them to the backpack culture which I hope motivates them to travel abroad. Any hel anyone can give will be greatly appreciated. Lee Guidry Founder Education Abroad Today

I've stayed at Paddy's Palace in Derry. It's a small hostel, located close enough to walk to much of Derry's sites. I have not taken a Paddy Wagon Tour, but there was a group (mostly adults from mid 20s to late 50s) that came through the Derry hostel while I was there and appeared to be having a good time on their journey around Northern Ireland. The owner of Paddy's has worked as a guide for Rick Steves and has been featured on several of his television shows and on his podcasts. I'm sure if you have any specific questions about the tour and what is covered regarding history/culture, they'd be happy to answer them or help you create a custom tour for a larger group travelling together.

When we were in Ireland, we say several Paddy Wagon tour buses. All the people getting off and on seemed happy and were enjoying the tour.

Hi Lee! I haven't taken the Northern Ireland tour, but we took a Cliffs of Moher tour with them last summer. It was wonderful, our guide was very knowledgeable and I learned a lot. Some sights were rushed, but we had plenty of time at the Cliffs, which is why we went there in the first place. Our guide was very nice and helpful, and the tour ran exactly like the brochure said it was. All in all, I was very satisfied with our tour. Sorry I can't give you any specifics on that specific tour, but I hope this helps! Enjoy your trip! :)
