2 adults and 5 teenagers need a fun restaurant to visit on a saturday night in Oxford. Hopefully it has a real college feel to it. Any suggestions?
"The Trout", on the river, just outside Oxford at Wolvercote is very nice.

I don't know about college feel, but I found one with a pure local flavor and decent food at good prices. It's the Wheat Sheaf pub, it's located in a fairly isolated alley and doesn't get much out of town traffic. I found it by stepping into one of the colleges gates (wasn't open to the public that day) and asking the guard on duty for a decent pub, nothing fancy, where we could get lunch. After having him repeat "Whit Shit" several times, I followed his directions to the Wheat Sheaf. It wasn't particularly nice inside but just what we were looking for.
There's The Eagle and Child pub, which was a hang out for JRR Tolkien and C.S. Lewis when they were professors at Oxford. I didn't get the chance to go there b/c I was in Oxford only briefly so I can't give a personal assessment, but it is very well-known and worth looking into.
The Eagle and Child is just a lovely gem inside, and has the ultra coolness of having been a Tolkein hang-out, but I might not recommend it for a "college feel" for a bunch of teens if by that you mean relaxed and a bit rowdy, with lots of hot grub for cheap, etc. Yes, they do serve food, but it can get touristy, AND it doesn't instantly spring to mind as a "fun" joint for teens. The Lamb and Flag, across the road from the Eagle and Child, is another place we've loved, and apparently they have a new menu that is getting raves. It has a more relaxed, less "historical" feel. The Turf Tavern might be good. It gets packed and loud, that's for sure. It was fun and rowdy and collegy when I was there. Not sure about the food, as we didn't eat there. But they do have food - you can check their menu on-line.
