Opinions of options for London?

Would anyone care to comment on the service from exclusiveairports.com Heathrow to hotel ? On-line price quote is 35 GBP vs Heathrow Express 36 GBP for two people, plus taxi or tube from Paddington. Also, we want a day tour to Salisbury / Bath / Stonehenge - preferably a small group on a Sunday. Not finding that yet, we are considering Evan Evans Tours as recommended by RS. Anyone care to comment on the EE service and/or options for a smaller group? Thanks...

You can also take the tube directly from Heathrow. Where are you staying? If it is along the Picadilly line the tube is the easiest (and most definietly the cheapest) option. Even if you have to change lines, it is usually not difficult.
We have used Evans Evans in the past (many, many years ago) and found them ok. Just realize that you will be spending most of your time on the bus- not touring. You can easily get to Bath by train from London (just purchase your tickets in advance for a major savings). You can then catch a Mad Maxx tour in Bath to go out to Stonehenge (takes a couple of hours). I'm not sure about including Salisbury. I believe London Walks also offers tours to Bath and/or Stonehenge- check their website.

Mad max from bath seems to make the most sense (not many do small groups) but i cant find any of their tours including salisbury. They do both a day and a half day tour to Lacock and Stonehenge i believe

No opinion on the exclusiveairports.com, but I would suggest you look at Heathrow Connect which is much less than Heathrow Express, and only adds about 10 minutes to the trip.
For your day tour, consider the day trips from London Walks http://www.walks.com/. I've done a number of their 2-hour London walks and all have been great. They offer a day trip to Bath and another trip to Salisbury/Stonehenge. But if you need a Sunday, they also have a "Hire a Guide" option that might work for your group. Have a great trip!

I am planning a trip to London next week and we booked a bus trip for a day through Stonehedge, Bath, and Kensington. It leaves right from our hotel and I booked it through the concierge at the hotel. However, there are many such bus tours. Google "bus tours to Stonehedge, Bath" and you will find options.

First where are you staying in London and how much do you wish to pay to get there from Heathrow? Loads of options including the car hire you've mentioned. Are you traveling light? Carryons or lugging tons of luggage? Heathrow Express is the fastest (15 mins) from the airport to Paddington and costs the most. Heathrow Express is next fastest (30 mins) goes to Paddington and is a bit less expensive. The Tube takes an hour and is the cheapest. Buses also travel from Heathrow to London and if you knew where you are staying might also be an option. Lastly, take a cab and spend a college tuition. I would look at the London Walks website and look at their weekend excursions. www.walks.com

We have always used a private transfer service from Heathrow to our South Kensington hotel. We have large luggage and don't want to use the underground or a taxi might not hold our luggage. We have been in London for the past three yewars in a row. This June we are using "Airports Taxi Transfers London". I booked it on-line.
