I am planning a trip to the UK and need to rent a car one way from the Canterbury region to York. Do you have recommendations for the best company to try?

Last Nov I used www.autoeurope.com and was pleased with there rate over the other major companies. you will incur a dropoff charge whoever you use, I picked up in Manchester and returned in Heathrow. Reserve as soon as you know your schedule waiting rarely improves the rate much if any. Realize that Uk rentals are generally higher per day than some other central european countries.

I have rented from argusrentals.com and they have alot of extras included in the price, including no drop off charge for a rental of 2+ days, CDW included, etc. check out their web site. This may have changed, but we had great service and a great price.

I've been trying to figure out why no one else uses Enterprise in UK & Ireland. We are getting 2 cars at great rates and for our one way there is a drop off fee, but it still makes Enterpise the cheapest rental anywhere. The only thing I can figure is that everyone uses a search and Enterprise never comes up. I just use them here, so checked there and it's about 1/2 of Argus' price for our rentals. www.Enterprise.com
