We will arrive in Oslo in the morning from the Copenhagen night ferry. We will have one day in Oslo before we leave for Norway in a Nutshell. Can I ask those of you who have been there for your best advice of a one day itinerary that would include the hi-lights of Oslo.
My top choices would be the Viking ship museum and the open air Folk museum. In the evening I'd go out to see the Vigeland sculptures in Frogner Park (which I think are cool, but some people hate them).
Without a doubt, at least to me, the number one sight is Frogner Park with the truly amazing sculptures by Gustav Vigeland followed by The Viking Ship Museum. The Norwegian Resistance Museum is worthwhile as well. Time would not allow, but I rather enjoyed the Norwegian Maritime Museum and the Holmenkollen Ski Jump.
I'd probably vote for Frogner and the Viking Ship Museum. Those plus a walk around town will take up a day. I wanted to see Akershus, even though it isn't highly rated, but the group I was with wasn't really excited about it - so I didn't get to see the inside.
