Looking for a reasonably priced hotel in a centtral location -what are the nice areas to stay? Has anyone stayed at the B+B Belgravia Studio @82? Or any other recommendations? Thank you

Check out the London School of Economics. They rent spare dorm accomodations and short stay apartments to tourists. They have several locations and a varitey of rooms and apartments. All either have a kitchen/kitchenett or access to a kitchen and all are ensuite. You also get access to student facilities such as lounges (tv and game rooms) and laundry. Website is

hi Maria, if your daughter is considering art school, how about Goldsmiths College (University of London) as well?

Hi Audrey- She is a Fashion Design major at Parson's. Was hoping to do her Junior year /Spring semester abroad. She has read and been told that Central St.Martin is one of the best in London for Fashion. She just started doing the research on Fashion schools in London.

Yes, Central St Martin is famous. I'm sure your daughter will love London. Enjoy your visit. London transport links are good, so one doesn't really have to stay right in the 'central' like Covent Garden or Piccadilly. There are many budget choices in areas like Earl's Court, Kensington, Victoria, Russell Square, Bayswater/ Paddington. To me, these are pretty 'central', and generally safe.

Hi Audrey- Thank you for your input. Have you heard of a bb-belgravia? Prices seem reasonable and the website pictures look real nice. But, based on experience can't always go by the pics.
Thanks once again-

No, I haven't heard of the B+B Belgravia. I agree it's difficult to choose a hotel based on its website alone. Try looking for reviews on other sites, like Tripadvisor or Venere? Some of the hotels recommended a few times on this board are: Lime Tree Hotel (Belgravia), Base2Stay in Kensington, Luna & Simone (Victoria). There are also a few small hotels along Gower Street which look fine and get decent reviews online (eg. Ridgemount, Arosfa, Arran House). And I had a good experience years ago at the Euro Hotel near Russell Square.
