Olympics tickets available again

In case anyone is interested in the 2012 Summer Olympics games in London next July and August, the official vendor of tickets for the USA, cosport.com, has just released its final batch of tickets. A great variety of sports are represented and the price ranges go from low to high (not just high). For example, there is a round of 16 beach volley ball ticket that is going for $65 for two matches. I just purchased a $76 ticket for sailing in Weymouth/Portland which includes train transporation form London which by itself is worth $40 - $60. Unfortunately, if you want to see field and track the only ticket available is a Category A that is priced $890. The word is that the drop of normal tourism to London is not being offset by the number of Olympics visitors so the housing situation might not be as bad as everyone thinks it will be. Hope to see some of you in London. I'll be there.

The thought of being anywhere near London during the Olympics is terrifying at this point. We had a trip to GB cancelled earlier this year and I would like to reschedule. With the Olympics in London et al, I have been thinking 2013. Your comment about lost normal tourism not being offset by Olympic visitors may make me reconsider.

Here is the link to the web site which discusses normal tourism to London during the Olympic games. As you can read the number of regular tourists is projected to be way down (understandably) and not be offset by the number of Olympics visitors: http://www.the2012londonolympics.com/forum/business-london-2012-olympics/17979-olympics-spark-tourist-numbers-debate.html My take on this is while places that rely on foreign visitors such as hotels might be in a disappointment London still might be crowded because of Olympic ticket holders from within the UK who will be day visitors. If you read how the tickects sold in the UK only a minority of Olympics fans were able to purchase tickets.
