I have been looking at renting a car for 4 days in Norway.
We would be leaving Oslo and returning it to Bergen.
I would need automatic as I cannot drive manual.
There is 4 adults and one baby going.
Does anyone know of rental car deals. The cheapest I can find is $1000 for 4 days.

I just checked my records--we paid $550 for a one week rental from Hertz in June, 2005. We picked up and returned the car at Bergen airport (hassle-free rental location, by the way.) If you are stuck with an Oslo location, maybe you could take a train to Bergen and then get the car?
I'd use kayak.com instead (and check the box for carrentals.com while you're there). It hits autoeurope at the same time, plus all the others which, often as not, beat autoeurope.
I've just about quit looking at europebycar since they seem to never have a location I need. Probably wouldn't hurt to give it a try, however.
Dont Rent a Car in Norway!! We rented a car 3 times and it was expensive and horrible each time! December 08 we wanted to go from Oslo to Kristiansand and decided to take train instead. Got cheap tickets and make the trip much easier and much less cost. Remember you have heavy tolls and do not want to avoid any of them. Also your insurance will not suffice if you do not take heavier insurance. Gas is so expensive-and I am used to high gas prices. There simply has to be a better way to travel in Norway than by car!
