We are planning our next trip to Europe and have a question on the Norway Fjords. I have a first attempt layout for the fjords, here it is:
Take the train from Oslo to Myrdal
Take the train from myrdal to flam
take the cruis from flam to gundaven
does this sound good for a one day thing? How do we get back to Oslo from here? Thanks!

We just got back yesterday from a two-week trip to Scandinavia. We did the fjords, too. The plan you have come up with will work- and you could then take the bus to Voss, then the train back to Oslo. I would suggest going to Bergen for a day after the fjords, or perhaps spending the night on the fjords in one of the towns there, such as Vik or Balestrand. One day in a nutshell is fine, but it will take at least 12 hours and be exhausting. Depending on the time of year, you will need to make reservations. Flam railway will not take reservations, but for the other parts, I suggest reservations if it's summertime.
