norway in a nutshell or sognefjord in a nutshell

It looks like there are now 2 different norway in a nutshell routes to get from oslo to bergen. I see norway in a nutshell and sognefjord in a nutshell. Looks like sognefjord has more time by boat and that seems more appealing to me. any advice??

I took Norway in Nutshell, and it was fantastic. Part of goes through the Sognefjord, so seems to me that "Norway" gives you the best of both worlds. The entire journey is so efficient and made very easy. The train portion raises ald lowers dramatically, takes you past gorgeous scenery (and stops for pics of waterfalls at 1 point) and Flam is just a lovely spot. The boat portion through the Sognefjord is def the highlite of the trip; one of my favorite memories from my trip to Scandinavia! And I recall quite a bit of time on the boat, so not sure how much "Sognefjord" would give you. If you have the time, I suggest proceeding on to Bergen (some people return right back to Oslo); I had 2 nights in Bergen and loved it; returned by train to Oslo on the 3rd day (very easy; if I recall, something like 3-4 hrs). Norway is spectacular; some of the best natural beauty in Europe; enjoy!

What Lawrence said. I would emphasize that Bergen is worth seeing. Take the funicular. Take in the history and culture. Norway in a Nutshell definitely gives you enough time on the water. And the train and bus rides are spectacular. As I said in another string, the Geirangerfjord area is even better but it is more remote.
