What have been peoples' experiences taking baggage with them on the Norway in a Nutshell train/ferry trip from Oslo to Bergen? Does it make it difficult to make all the transportation connections? Is there a place in Oslo to leave luggage behind that is safe and convenient?

It's no problem taking luggage along; most people do. During the ferry portion of the trip, there is a huge pile of bags that takes up most to the room at the front of the boat:) It's also no problem storing your bags in Oslo should you wish. There are plenty of lockers available at the train station and the adjacent bus station.
