Will be on a cruise to Norway next summer. Stops are Bergen, Flam, Geiranger, Alesund, and Stavanger. Any suggestions on what is worth seeing, and what might be a waste of time. We are looking to take local transportation rather than cruise line excursions. Thanks

In addition to any replies you get here, be sure to go to Cruise Critic. Here's their Northern European Ports Forum, and here are their Northern European Ports reviews (scroll down for the whole list). Also Rick Steves Snapshot Norway and his Northern European Cruise Ports books cover some (but not all) of your destinations, and are specifically geared to those not taking the cruise line excursions.
