Can anybody suggest places to visit on a 4 day trip to North Ireland.
LB, Belfast would be a good spot to start, but you might also consider the area around Portrush, as you could visit the Bushmill's Distllery, Carrick-A-Rede Rope Bridge, Dunluce Castle, Giant's Causeway and other sites. You might find London/Derry interesting also?
Cheers!
The Ulster American Folk Park a few miles north of Omagh is worth trip and there is also a national forest park nearby but can't remember the name of it.
It's Gortin Glen Forest Park. You definitely will not find many other tourists here.
I second Ken's suggestions--I especially enjoyed staying in Portrush and visiting Giant's Causeway, Bushmills Distillery and the Carrick-a-rede Rope Bridge. Belfast is interesting as well--consider seeing a play at the Opera House. Possibly 1 night in Belfast and 3 in Portrush.
If you are driving the Antrium coast drive from Portrush along the coast to Belfast is very nice.
A nice side trip along the Antrim coast is the small village of Portbraden. It has Ireland's smallest church which is about 12'x6'. The village is set in a niche at the base of sheer cliffs and looks out on White Park Bay. It is in the area between the rope bridge and the Giants Causeway. Most definitely worthwhile.
