Elderly twosome landing in Belfast in June on our way to meet and visit with ancestral relatives in Carrickfergus.
1. What would be the best way to get to Carrickfergus from airport?
2. Any hotel or B&B recommendations on 3-night stay in Carrickfergus? Reserve ahead?

Go to the Tourist Information Office in Belfast and ask how to get to Carrickfergus. When you arrive in Carrickfergus go to the TIO and ask for a B&B. I would not bother to reserve in advance. You will want to inspect the B&B room before renting.
