New Years Eve in London

Hi all, My wife and I will be in London for new years eve in a few months. Has anyone ever celebrated new years in London before and have suggestions on how to ring in the new year? P.S. We're both in our early 30s and are up for anything (although probably won't be going to any clubs). Thanks! Ryan

If you're in London for NYE then the traditional gathering place is Trafalgar Square. There are usually fireworks along the Thames as well. If you go to Trafalgar Square be prepared for it to be extremely busy but very good natured. There will be many pubs hosting events however most, if not all, will be tickets only. Personally I've given up on going to pubs / clubs for NYE as it is always viewed as a licence to print money, I'd rather have some friends round and celebrate with lots of food and wine.

Get to your spot early, make new friends and enjoy! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mLJO93F0UXY You could also go to a comedy show.
New Year's Day ice skate, shop at after Xmas sales, check out museums, etc. When you arrive in London grab an issue of Timeout Magazine and peruse all the New Year's Eve happenings.

I have not been there for NYE but there for N.Years day. We celebrated NYE in Paris and took the train over to London for NY day. If you are there you have to see the prade. It was pretty good. Check out this web site:
