Hubby JUST told me that he hopes to take me back to Scotland for HOGMANAY! We haven't been able to do international travel for 5 years due to family health issues. I'm crossing my fingers and sending up prayers that mom and mom-in-law will stay healthy. It has been one of my dreams to see in the New Year in either Edinburgh or Inverness. But I just checked our regular hotel (The Royal British Hotel on Princes St.- great location to see fireworks, etc.) and am not certain we'll be able to get rooms there. Any one have any other suggesstions for a hotel (mid-price range- say 200 GBP a night) on Princes St. or with a good view so we could see the fireworks, the street party, etc. We will be arriving/leaving by train at Waverly Station, I assume . Also, if you have been there for Hogmanay, what events did you enjoy most? I just looked at the official website and there seems to be LOTS going on.
