Need to Plan a 14-day trip in Southern Ireland incl. midland counties

My future wife and I are looking to plan our honeymoon for the end of May and would appreciate some assistance in prioritizing attractions and towns to visit. - We are interested in experiencing all counties south of Donegal and Northern Ireland. We are intimidated by trying to fit so much in but still want to experience as much of Ireland as possible.
- Our priorities involve seeing the countryside(including the midland counties), visiting castles, cathedrals, and Celtic ruins, seeing the coast, and listening to traditional Celtic/Irish music After reviewing Rick's 2013 Ireland book, I was unable to locate any information regarding the midland region of Ireland. Could you please assist in helping us determine how to prioritize the locations we should visit to fit in to our 14-day timeframe? We would greatly appreciate any information or advice you would be able to offer. Thank you. Curt and Erin

There are lots of other guidebooks besides RS. He tends to only cover areas that he personally prefers, but that doesn't mean they are the only worthwhile places to go. Check out some others at your local library. Don't try to fit everything in. There is no way that you can see everything in two weeks.

Suggest you get a map of Ireland and sort of plot off where you want to go. Fly into Shannon, rent car there and do a circle trip, west to Dingle, south and then up east coast towards Dublin and then around again to Shannon. We did that in two trips and except for two nights in Naas, all one nights and did not feel rushed but some others prefer not to do one nights. Only place we stayed in the middle of Ireland was Carrick on Shannon, lovely town on the river about two hours west of Dublin. One trip was ten days not counting departure and another was fourteen on the ground.
