Need Recommendations for Ireland

I will be in London and can spare 3 days to visit Ireland. What are the must-see places in Ireland? What is the cheapest way to get to these places from London?

Faisal,

With only three days, I'd suggest focusing on Dublin and area, with perhaps one day trip to nearby sites.

The easiest and fastest way to get to Ireland from London is undoubtedly via air. RyanAir is probably your best option, but be sure to pack light or you'll get nicked with an overweight baggage charge.

Cheers!

IMHO, I would not go to Dublin if you are already doing London---too much city. Fly to Galway--tour Connemara, take the ferry to the Aran Islands, visit the Burren, and maybe do a medieval banquet at the castle closer to Galway. Or, fly to Shannon and explore Dingle and the Ring of Kerry or fly to Cork and sample the Beara Peninsula and the Ring of Kerry. Any of these will give you a taste of Ireland's beautiful scenery instead of city crowds. Your days will be full, but you have enough time for one of these three trips. I assume you plan to rent a car.

3days isn't really much at all to see Ireland. especially if those include travel days, about 1/2 day lost on each end to travel.
Ryan Air, or Aer Lingus offer decent prices, though Aer Lingus appears to be somewhat easier to know exactly what you are paying.

Probably Dublin would be your best bet, lots to see there, and plenty of short day trip tours available as well.

What do you want to see or do?

You can fly into most of the main and regional airports from London fairly cheaply and go from there. You can fly into Shannon, Cork, Belfast or Derry.

I agree with Cynthia. I would fly into Shannon and explore the Dingle area, etc. You will need a car to do this. If you are hoping to do Ireland without a car I would stick with Dublin.

I also agree with Cynthia. I've been to both London and Dublin and really enjoy both of them-- however, if I only had 3 days in Ireland, and had already seen London, I would focus on the countryside in Ireland.

Maybe fly from London to Shannon, rent a car at the airport and then see Cliffs of Moher, Galways, and maybe try to get down to Dingle. Not sure you'd have enough time, but those three would give you a good sense of Ireland.

Happy Travels!!

Thanks for all the great advice. I think I will ignore Dublin as suggested and focus on Shannon and Dingle areas.
