Need help to ID a statue from Edinburgh

Does anyone know who the statue is of that is in front of the St. Giles Cathedral on the Royal Mile? I'm thinking Robert Burns but I'm not 100% sure. The statue looks like he is wearing a ceremonial type robe with the gold "chains" around the upper chest across the shoulders. The robe is drapped across one of the arms.

I would appreciate it if someone could help me identify it, I haven't found anything yet on the internet.

It's Walter Scott, Duke of Buccleuch and of Queensberry, a Scottish nobleman and politician during the 19th century. The current Duke, 9th and 11th of that ilk, is the largest private landowner in Britain.

It is definitely one of the Dukes of Buccleuch and may be Walter Scott as someone says, but it is not Sir Walter Scott, the author whose monument is the impressive tower in Princess Street Gardens.

Nope....not the author....that's why I labelled him as a British politician.

Thank you everyone for your help. It is the Duke of Buccleuch, Walter Scott. I apparently got rid of my notes with his name.
