I am trying to book tickets to three musicals in London. The numbers provided on the websites are 0844 numbers that I cannot access from the US. What is the best way to book musical tickets from the US? 1. Should I wait until I get to London and book at the ticket booth? 2. Should I book online? 3. Or should I call the box office directly?
Any help would be greatly appreciated. I travel in 5 weeks so I have a bit of time. Thank you kindly to anyone who provides feedback.
We have used albemarle ( a ticket agency) several times. They have been very reliable and have seat maps for all of the theatres.
You would drop the 0....dial 011-44-844 then the number. I've done both, I've called and booked online. If you can get tickets in the "stalls" they are the best seats in the theatre.
This website will give you the lowdown including the best seats for the price: http://www.theatremonkey.com/
I have mostly had success booking on line. I've done so easily for the Globe and also booked discount tickets to a show on Theatre Monkey's own ticket page (make sure you click on their links to special discounts before you book!). I did encounter one difficulty booking on line through the Delfont Mackintosh Theatres website, which provides online tickets to a number of London theatres. There was a glitch during the confirmation of the internet order, requiring that we call to complete the booking. We have done so but have been unable to receive internet confirmation from them, despite requesting the information be sent to more than one internet address for us. We have ended up making several calls to try to get written confirmation, with no success...although every time we call with the booking reference number they are able to locate our reservation and read it back to us. Has anyone else experienced this?
We have also used Albemarle's of London. Found them very reliable. They will either ship the tickets to you or have them waiting for you at your hotel when you arrive.
