Morgan House or LimeTree Hotel in London, UK

Have an unexpected business trip for London for two nights in May. So last minute booking for best rates. Only two available are: Morgan House (no private bath) and LimeTree which we will get. Of course LimeTree is more expensive. Reviews on both are mixed. Any recommendation. In other words, is LimeTree worth the money? Thanks as always.

I haven't stayed at the either the Morgan House or the Limetree but I've stayed at the Cartref House on the same street. It's a great location--I think that either hotel would be fine. If you're paying for the hotel yourself I'm not sure that it's worth paying more for the Limetree. Just a thought...

Stayed at LimeTree last spring, just OK in my opinion. The mixed reviews on TripAd for LTree are accurate & negative ones match my experience. Not enough to do a neg review, but enough to look elsewhere; as we did for this spring & are going to try the Luna&Simone on Belgrave Rd. Not worth the extra $'s for a small double bed with one side tight against the wall, lights that flickered or didn't work, and a consistent 'why are you bothering me' attitude from the desk staff.

My husband and I stayed at the Morgan House for five nights last September. Nothin' fancy, but it was clean, quiet and comfortable. A hearty, hot breakfast was included, it's about three blocks from Victoria Station, and the staff was friendly and helpful.

I stayed at Morgan House last fall for a few nights. It was fine. I don't mind sharing a bath to save money. Most of these hotels are in the "Victoria Station AREA" but are probably 10 min walk to the tube stop there. There is plentiful bus transportation, which is sometimes more convenient. Sit on the top for an almost free London tour.

We are on a Rick Steves tour in April and will be staying with the tour at the Lime Tree.
