My friend & I are arriving at Heathrow on different flights, but about the same time. One is at Term 1 and one at Term 3. Never been there. Any suggestions about where to meet and whether there is helpful customer service if we completely lose each other? Chances are one flight will be delayed, but I presume there will be a board showing all flights.
Are you going into London? The same tube station serves both T1 and T3, so you could just meet at the tube station (although there really isn't a good place to sit and relax). The terminals are only about 10 minutes apart so one of you could just walk to the other terminal, although once again neither terminal has a coffee shop or anything comfortable in the arrivals area. You could check the maps on the Heathrow website and pick one of the shops in arrivals. Personally, I prefer to meet at the hotel. The immigration lines can be unpredictable and the length varies, plus I've had delays a number of times. If you are staying in London, my suggestion would be to both head to the hotel.
Ruth - I think Laura is right. Your best place to meet is your hotel. Immigration can hold you up even if your flight is on time. Then there is baggage claim if you are checking. If you are worried about getting from the airport to the hotel, there are a ton of threads here that cover this subject, and if that doesnt work for you, I can assure you everyone will be happy to answer your questions.
Thanks for the replies - we did make a plan to meet at Heathrow - pretty easy just outside of arrivals at Term 3. But, good thng we had a back up plan to call home to her husband after a certain time...her plane got cancelled and she's arriving 24 hours late. Wi_fi wasnt working right there so I ddin 't get the email.
Warning: be prepared for any exceptions - always have a back-up to meet at hotel or BnB, if things don't work out.
