My mother and I are going to London in a few weeks, and I was wondering if there are any fun feasts or banquets in london or nearby that are worthwhile?
The folks on this site tend to be a little bit more of the "off-the-beaten-track" type of travelers.... Rick Steves basically got famous (I think) via his "Europe Through the Back Door" series.... so I am wondering if the lack of responses reflects the more "back door" spin many of the posters here put on their travel. That being said, you might try Warwick Castle. http://www.warwick-castle.co.uk/misc/online-sales/terms.aspx It's a couple of hours north-ish of London, but there are plenty of day trips - and the castle does a medieval dinner. There's also a place that gets pretty good reviews call Medieval Banquet London - which is right in town. http://www.medievalbanquet.com/ Now.... maybe an answer will attract other responders who will have better ideas! Have a great trip! Oh - and when you are in London, don't miss the Banqueting House. It's the last surviving building from Whitehall Palace, and there are concerts in the evening.
