Manchester Airport to Picadilly

I am flying into Manchester in late June. I need to take the train from Manchester to London. I have looked everywhere I can think of but I can't find information about the connection between "The Station" at Manchester Airport and the Picadilly Train Station. Is it easy to figure out once you are there? Is the ride from The Station included in my Virgin ticket? If not, can I pay for the transfer with cash or my Oyster card? I'd really appreciate any feedback. Thanks!

Hi, the railway station is integrated with the airport, there are moving walkways.
Lots of trains from airport to piccadily, without geting the timetable out about every 15mins.
Theres a manned ticket office just before you reach the tracks.I think oyster is limited to london
Almost certain you need a ticket before travel.
I'd be 99% sure your ticket won't cover airport-to- town.

The Oyster card is no use here, it's only good in the Greater London area.

What "Virgin ticket" have you bought? The airport station is just a normal train station, so if you have bought a ticket from Manchester Airport to London then you are covered. The station has the usual timetable displays and departure boards you'd expect at any station.

If you have bought a ticket from Manchester Piccadilly to London then you'll need to buy a ticket to there from the airport. From memory it's about £3 but you can find the exact amount from the National Rail site referenced above. The airport station has a manned ticket window and numerous machines where you can buy a ticket using cash or credit and debit cards.
