I will be meeting up with my daughter who is studying abroad in England. We will be spending a night in Manchester and I am looking for a nice hotel with transportation to and from the airport. Any suggestions?

Molly, I can't vouch for the particular hotel, but the Travelodge chain is very no frills and basic, while (usually) clean and nice.

One of the Accor chain hotels should fit your budget. You can take the Metro from the airport to downtown for about 2.5 Pounds-I don't now of any that have shuttles, and have stayed at the Deansgate, Marriott, and several of the Accor hotels(at anywhere from 60 to 130 Pounds, depending on the stars).

Just to "nit-pick" -- the Metro does not go to Manchester airport but the ordinary rail system does.
