Does anyone know where I could find information on tours of the Grampian whisky trail in Scotland? So far all I've found is info on doing a driving tour. Aberdeen and Inverness both mention tours on their city info web sites but nothing about how to take them.
Check out Heavenly Highlands tours. They have a good website and do good tours. Google whiskey tours Scotland or custom tours whiskey... lots of options. many Disterilies can be toured by taking the train and walking to the distillery. You'd be surprised how close some are to the station- Dalwhinnie and Strathaela are 2 we did this summer that way.
There is a show on the history channel now about scotch whiskey.
I don't know that it will help with your tour, but look for Iain Banks book RAW SPIRIT. It's all about his search for the perfect dram. It's excellent. You might have to order from Amazon.co.uk.
