Luna & Simone or Lynton Hotel?

My wife and I will be going to London in September and I have narrowed it down to these two hotels. Am leaning toward Lynton for the location (closer to Victoria Station) but there seem to be a lot of positive reviews for Luna & Simone as well (though it is a little more expensive. Both seem equally good, suppose I should just stay at Lynton. Have seen all the reviews at TripAdvisor. We're staying for one week in London (after two nights in Bath). Thanks!

Actually I would skip both and stay at the Premier Travel Inn London County Hall. Dead center London at Westminster tube, London eye outside your window, as well as Thames, Parliament, & Big Ben.

I'm looking for people who have stayed at either hotel I listed. If you reply to a topic, please stay in topic, don't suggest a completely different hotel. Yours may have good reviews, but it's not one I am considering.

Not familiar with the Lynton, but we stayed at Luna & Simone last October and were quite pleased with it. It's about a 10 minute walk from Victoria Station, but Bus #24 (which stops at Victoria Station before continuing on to Trafalgar Square and ultimately Hampstead Heath) stops literally at the front door. Proprietors are very friendly and rooms are tiny but clean. The breakfast is ample and will keep you going for a good part of the day!

Thanks Gary, you're right. But I had already decided we wanted a B&B in a quiet residential neighborhood, part of being a "temporary local" as Rick advises us. That hotel looks like it has a great view, but it's more expensive than the Luna & Simone, and is larger and more impersonal. I like the area around Victoria Station and being able to walk on a residential street (not a large city street) is nice.

Dave, I personally think you have chosen the best of the two you mention.

I have to add however that I think you are being a little hard on Tim here.

I opt for the hotel he mentioned every time I visit the Capital.

The beauty of these boards is that people can and do offer their valued opinions.

Not to worry.

Have a great time when you come.
