How easy/difficult is it to manage luggage on public buses in London?
In a word - impossible ( difficult to get on/off, let people pass, etc) Tube is ok - stand/sit by door. Hope this helps

How big is the luggage? Traveled by bus many times in London by I only have a carryon. This link shows the interior of a London Bus. YOu can judge for yourself. Tube is easier.

Thanks. Helpful comments.
In my mind I varies by type of bus and time of day and what the luggage is. Most London buses now kneel upon request so hoiking it up the step is easier. There is a buggy area just behind the driver on both double decker and single decker buses. All the bendy buses, with their diabolical floor layout are now gone. If you should (very unlikely) get an original Routemaster there is a small luggage area under the stairs. You can't get luggage up the stairs of any double decker. Don't try to do it at peak times. I would actually suggest that can be easier by bus than tube. Most Underground stations have a few, several or many stairs. It would be helpful if we knew the route you propose travel. I understand from another thread that you may have stair issues. If that is the case I suggest buses. Slower, yes, but if you stay downstairs it is a maximum of one step up and one step down, less if you get the bus to kneel. There is an Underground map about accessible travel on the TfL website . EDIT: I've looked at the great photos provided by Claudia from lalaland. In the third one down the area I am speaking of is behind the standing woman in the blue, on the left. If there aren't wheelchairs or too many baby buggies there is room for luggage.
