lost all postcards &travel books I got in Ireland, anyone going can help?

Hello all! Had the most magical, wonderful vacation in Ireland imagineable! BUT sometime between leaving our rental car in Dublin, storing our luggage and flying to Scotland, all the postcards and books I had bought disappeared, no luck finding. Is anyone going who would be interested in helping me by repurchasing them for me, if we can work it out?
thanks so much--if you are going, you are in for a fantastic time with wonderful people! Luanne Arrington

Luanne, sorry to hear this. Have you tried the car rental people in case they have your things? That would seem to me to be the most likely place they were lost. Or the last place you stayed.
Good luck.

Hi Maggie, thanks, yes, and they have been great, but nothing. Called the taxi, the hotelseverywhere. I think my best bet now may be to talk with someone going (I bought things in Dublin, Kilkenny, Glencree, Glendalough, Rock of Cashel, Kinsale, Kenmare (with Ring of Kerry and Beara), Killarney, Dingle (with Slea Head and Blasket), Cliffs of Mohr and Burren, Galway and Salthill, Connemara, and even Loughlea) and see if we can work out a way for me to send them money to buy postcards from those places, and mail to me on their return home. The only other thing I can think of is to try to contact the TI centers in each place, but not sure how that would work. Any suggestions are welcome! We have photos, but I like to supplement with the postcards...

If you are just looking for some really nice or professional quality photos of landmark sights in Ireland to supplement a scrapbook or travel journal, you could probably just print some images off the Internet or photo sharing websites like Flickr. Use photo paper and a good laser printer and you will get something pretty similar to a postcard for just a few pennies. As for the books, not sure what you lost. Have you tried to find the same titles on Amazon or Barnes & Noble or maybe contact a large bookstore in Dublin to see if they can ship overseas if it is a title not available in the US?

That's an idea! I am not terribly computer literate, but I could probably do that with less trouble than the other way. The books are just the little ones you buy at the TI and other spots for about $5.99 each on individual places or cities or attractions--I had 3 or 4.
Thanks!

There is an Irish Store in West Chester, PA that has a very good collection of books, postcards (at least the last time I was there), look them up on the internet and see what they have, called either Abbey Green or Greene, the owner is lovely. Give it a try.

Luanne, if there's anything I can help you with in Dublin I'd only be too happy to do so.
