My daughters and I will be visiting England to see my oldest daughter who is an Au-Pair there for a year. We will spend some time with her near Cambridge and a few days in London. Since this will be my 2nd visit, I would like to visit the seaside this time and would especially love to stroll a cliff walk. Would prefer to do it as a day trip from either London or Cambridge area. Any suggestions? If a quaint seaside town was in the same area, all the better.
My favourite cliff top walk is along the 7 sisters to Beachy Head.
Just get a train down to Eastbourne on the coast. A very frequent local bus to Brighton runs along the coast. Either get off at East Dean by the church or go onto the Seven Sisters Country Park visitor centre.
From east Dean its about 2 hours, from 7 sisters about an hur longer. There is a Tea Room half way at Birling Gap and a pub at Beachy Head, just before you descend back down to Eastbourne.
Most of the way is following the cliff edge all the way.
