we're staying at the airdenair this august for 70 pounds a night for a double. not sure if they have singles, but the double is in your price range. the b&b came recommended by rick steves guidebook and jill seems nice when we booked over the phone.
we just got back and we loved 'the victorian townhouse' b & b in Edinburgh. Aileen Reeves, our host, was totally welcoming and helpful; the food was wonderful. we loved our room. we were in the 'caledonian' room. it was large and had a view to a little courtyard out the large window. had a small sofa and a fireplace and a very nice bathroom with shower. she uses part of her townhouse on eglinton crescent, as a b & b. it is very close to buses and the downtown. I have some trouble walking but was able to get to everything from her place. eglinton crescent is a really beautiful street, with a park across from it. - julie
Check out the Royal British. It is across the street from the rail station. Nice views down Princes Street and a nice little walk to the Royal Mile.
