I'm planning a trip to London in early May with my 3 kids and I'm looking for a location that would satisfy all of us. I've stayed at the Luna Simone Hotel but I think that neighborhood will be a little quiet for the older ones who are interested in hanging out at the pubs in the eveningl I'm looking for someplace convenient to the tube (planning to take that again from Heathrow), and someplace quiet with enough nightlife nearby that I won't worry too much about them when they are out and about at night. I would also like to stay in an apartment. Been looking at airbnb.com but the choices are overwhelming! Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
Stay in Earl's Court and the 20 + year olds can tube to Chelsea for the nightclubs. The 16 year old will have to hang with you.
Thanks Claudia I'll keep that in mind. Trying to find an apartment that I can afford right now but am kind of hesitant since I've always just stayed in hotels before.
Check out the family room at the Vancouver Studio Apartments in Bayswater. Or maybe two rooms with twin beds. If the 20 plus year old merely wish to hang with the locals there's a sweet neighborhood pub a block away. A shopping mall a couple a blocks away, complete with movie theaters, walk to Hyde Park, vibrant and bustling Bayswater neighborhood, two tube stops...check the TripAdvisor reviews.
Perhaps you could rent an apartment from the London School of Economics. They rent spare dorm rooms and apartments to tourists (as do other universities). LSE has multiple central locations, and you get either a kitchen, kitchenett, or if a dorm room, kitchen access. You also get student 'priviledges" such as use of the laundry room and the 'lounge'- game & TV room. Your kids could meet and spend time with some London college kids!!! Claudette - Check out the Falcon Hotel. It's located very close to Paddington Station.
The Vancouver apts were already booked and so were fleet river bakery and great litchfield street that I've seen on other posts. I will definitely check out LSE and the Falcon Hotel. Thanks for the tips!
