Is it correct that children under 14 ride for free on the London Underground? Thank you.

No, that is not true. Children 11-15 can ride free on buses and trams and they can get child fares on the Tube, DLR, London Overground, and National Rail. However, to do so they will need to have an Oyster photocard. Go here for basic information and then follow the links to order the card.
