How far is it from the central bus station at Heathrow to St. Pancras/King's Cross Station and what's the simplest, most scenic & most economical way to travel between the two?

Simplest, cheapest, and fastest will be via the Tube Picadilly line which goes direct to St Pancras/Kings Cross. Journey time will be 1 hour. http://www.tfl.gov.uk/

The Tube is the cheapest. Also the least scenic. After all, it's underground once it hits London, but it is above ground for at least 50 percent of the trip. Much of the route in, though, is far from scenic. If you can find a bus from Heathrow that stops at St Pancras or Kings Cross (they're a couple hundred yards apart) it wouldn't be expensive and would probably allow the most time for looking out the window as it made it's way in.
