London to Hickstead for the British Jumping Derby

My wife and I will be in London in late June-early July and need advice on the best (and cheapest) way to get to Hickstead for the British Jumping Derby on Sunday, June 29

I' well off my normal beaten track on this one. For what it's worth you can take a 45 minute train from Victoria Station to Crawley. From Crawley there should be special coaches taking spectators to Hickstead.

Take that with a pinch of salt, I've never been to a show jumping event in my life, I've never been within six foot of a horse but I do know that Crawley is the best place to start from and that there are regular trains to Crawley from Victoria even on a Sunday.
