Does anyone know how long it takes to get from London to Beachy Head? We were hoping to go here and to Stonehendge in 1 day, is this doable?
I don't know exactly but I would think about 1 1/2 to 2 hours. Stonehenge and Beachy Head are in 2 different directions. Beachy Head is in Sussex, south east of London while Stonehenge is in Wiltshire (I think) and is south west of London. I suppose IT IS POSSIBLE to reach both in one day but it would be a long trip. Besides Stonehenge is not that great IMHO since they put up the fence around it.
viamichelin.com or mappy.com or maporama.com will tell you exactly how long it will take.
Amber, Kent is right and it also depends on how much time you want to spend at Beachy Head and how you are traveling. I know the train trip from London to Brighton is around an hour and the car trip from Brighton to Beachy Head is about the same. Obviously you want to go to Stonehenge or you wouldn't have asked. The fence is only to keep away those who have not paid. There is only a short rope barrier between you and the stones perhaps 50ft away. You can apply for private access, well before your journey. I think doing it all in one day would be difficult.
