Hi! Going to London on a short notice trip next week and thinking about seeing Wicked. I stumbled across this website (see below) regarding the Get Into London Theatre program and wondered if it's legit and if anyone else has used it/had an experience with it.
Thanks! http://www.getintolondontheatre.co.uk/home/
Grace, When I want to research where to buy tickets for London shows, I rely on the theatremonkey website. http://theatremonkey.com/ It is an independent site that lists the agency that runs the official box office for each show, as well as other agencies selling tickets. They also show the fees that agencies are charging for tickets for the show. This website also has reviews on seat locations and maps that show seating. I'm not familiar with the site that you noted, but I see it indicates that it is administered by the Society of London Theatre (SOLT) which is legitimate. SOLT runs the half price TKTS booth in Leicester Square. I also see the Wicked tickets are sold by SEE Tickets which is also legitimate. I've bought from them in the past.
Very legit, I used them last summer to buy tickets, nary a problem. Well, one minor one... I had multiple windows open in order to get the seats I wanted, and when I clicked through to purchase on the active window, it actually switched me to another set of tickets, and I didn't notice. I ended up seeing Chicago with a lean to be able to see anything. The seats aren't necessarily the best seats, so be careful and check what you're getting. Use theatre monkey in conjunction with it, and all will be well.
I just checked...http://www.londontickets.uk.com/8686/Wicked-Tickets.html ....I acted like I wanted to get a ticket, there were seats in the fourth row in the stalls (best seats) which is well worth the money. If you are going you really should sit in the stalls so you can see. I have always sat in the stall area when I go to the theatre in London. Theatre in London is the best!!!
