I will be in London for a day and a half in September. Does any one have any suggestions for a hop on/off double decker bus tours.
Thanks!

The choice is endless and they are all pretty similar. Just ask the various guides selling tickets for a brochure, get four or five. Have a coffee and compare prices and routes and pick the one that suits you the best.
It couldn't be more easy. If you want a recommendation try 'The Big Red Bus Co', they've been around for years and seem to drop people off and pick them up at all the popular places.
We had the Best of Europe book from Rick Steves and it included a discount for the Original London Sightseeing Bus Tour. We actually got more off than we should have as they gave us a £6 off for 4 people making the book more than pay for itself. They have raised their price from the book; £19 in person, £2.50 off with book or book either Original or Big bus on-line and save £2. Especially if you are alone you can get a lot done with the tours, but try to plan ahead on-line. What do you really want to see since the boat tour is 1 hour + and everything takes time. We figure about 3-4 things in 24hours. Have a great time!
We just returned from London and would NOT recommend Big Bus. The guide spent most of our narrative time asking how many seats were left in the back of the bus. The other company seemed more efficient and informative after conversations with fellow travelers.
Having just returned, I would not recommend The Big Bus Company. Our first bus broke down and the second bus had no live commentary or working audio system. The manager at the Information Centre refused to give us tickets for another day when we could tour London, or a refund on our previously-purchased tickets. There are other bus companies.
