London-Rock and roll tours/Gastonbury festival

Will be in london with my 17 yr old daughter, we are music lovers, punk, rock, alternative. We are looking for a good tour, any suggestions? We will travel to Glastonbury for the famous festival rock show too.

Congrats!!!! Never attended the festival but have managed to "secure" the BBC TV coverage for the past couple of years. Incredible line-ups, great blend of old and new acts. It was announced yesterday that Beyonce would be one of the headliners, there are persistent rumors that U2 will as well. Also found it funny that there will be no festival in 2012....because of the Olympics in London there will not be enough porta potties to go around:)

Nina, Not sure which acts you like in particular but a couple of items to consider are: Most of the classic rock artist I believe lived within walking distance of the Hyde region or near by. IIRC there are some part day walking tours that either cover Beatles sites or classic rock artist sites. You will get to hear stories and see the outside of the buildings of where they made news, see some plaques and get your picture taken. However, the thing I like to do is somewhat different and involves:
Take the tube to (IIRC) St. Johns Wood and walking down to Apple Studios and strutting across the zebra strip crosswalk on the cover of the Abbey Roads albumn. Then taking the tube down to Hyde Park and walking over to the Hard Rock Cafe Store and taking the Vault tour where they have Hendrix's flying V guitar strung and tuned so aspiring tourist can cut a tune. Enjoy your trip, Edwin
