London one day, hotel, transport to Heathrow

I am a 70 year old grandmother travelling with two 15 year old grandsons. The last night of our tour is at the new Park Plaza Westminster Bridge Hotel. I would like to transfer for one night to an inexpensive hotel with easy transportation for 10:00 a.m. flight out of Heathrow. Thought of nearby Premier London County Hall or Paddington or Victoria Station area. We will each have a wheeled suitcase. Thanks for your advice.

We always stay in the Paddington station area when exiting through London. The Heathrow Express is more expensive but convenient and quick -- about 30 minutes. Second there are a dozen or more hotels along the street in front of Paddington. Mostly moderate to cheap (relatively speaking) and are within one or two blocks of the station. You don't want to stay in the Victoria station area. While it is an area that we prefer when staying in London it is difficult to get to HRow from there. It is a long tube ride, over an hour, with one station change. Another option would be to pick a hotel you like and have the hotel arrange for a car. Close to break even for three of you using the HRow Express.

PS -- Steve, the Piccadilly doesn't go through Victoria only the District, Circle and Victoria pass through Victoria.

Look for a hotel near Gloucester Road or Earls Court. Both of these stops are on the Piccadilly Line so a direct trip to Heathrow (about 45 minutes).
