What is the best area to stay in London if I want to experience the night life. Late night pubs, street vendors, etc.

The Covent Garden / Neal St. area is nice. Lots of pubs, resturants, etc. Lots of street performers, food carts, etc. too.

The street vendors don't really stay up real late in London, and neither do the pubs. The CLUBS do... but that's not the same as a pub.
London is so easy to get around, you don't need to stay in a specific area. Over by Leichester (?) Square are a lot of hotspots.
Just be careful not to go to the "girlie" bars. Most are scams, and you can get taken!
