Trying to find a hotel or apt. Or b and b in London for 3 adults in november that is located around Hyde park, preferably south or east of the park for a price of $250 Us. Any suggestions
.
If you are staying 5 days or more, try Coach House Rentals: www.rentals.chslondon.com We used them in September and were very pleased.
You can find out availability for your dates instantly. You can also see locations, prices, etc. Prices include VAT (which is now 22%, I think), so you'll have no surprises. Keep in mind, you won't find much at all for $250, even B&Bs. (Because most likely you'd need two rooms.) Good luck and have fun!
Look at Rick's suggestions. Go on TripAdvisor. Try Priceline. A triple room should be available for $250 or less. That's roughly 150 GBP. I wouldn't worry about getting a double for that price but I don't have any experience with triples. London is somewhat slower in November so you might get a deal.
Joy - Try Falcon Hotel(www.falcon-hotel.com). I have not stayed hear, but a friend has and he said "It met his needs quite well". It is a short walk from Paddington Station. Triple rate are 105-115 gbp per night.
Look at Laterooms.com. They have extensive list of hotels. Also, if staying about a week, look at http://www.homelidays.co.uk/. They do apts and some B&B's.
Take a look at the Royal Court Apartments: http://www.royalcourtapartments.co.uk/aboutus.html A little more expensive is the London Elizabeth, but it gets good reviews on tripadvisor. http://www.londonelizabethhotel.com/index.php/tariff/ I have never used airbnb and have no interest in renting a bedroom in someone's home. However, I would consider renting an entire flat. Take a look at this one:
http://www.airbnb.com/rooms/85945 Check tripadvisor for hotel reviews and traveler's photos. You can also sometimes find lower rates on hotel booking sites such as lastminute.com, wotif.com, or booking.com
I stayed at the Hilton Hyde Park and it was wonderful. Perfectly situated by the tube, nice bar in the bottom, great pub across the street, and when you walk out you are directly across from Hyde Park.
I got the best deal directly on the Hilton website.
Joy, take a look at the London Lodge Hotel. It is near both the Earls Court and High Street Kensington tube stations. My husband and I just stayed there for 6 nights and were very pleased with it for comfort, cleanliness, convenience to transportation, and price. You can see my review on Trip Advisor. Mary
