London Hotel/B&B for a Family

We are a family of four and will be in London for a couple of days the end of June. With so little time, where is the best place to stay? Family friendly, safe, convenient to main London sites, transit...
Thank you!

This close to the date you might want to try booking.com. You can enter the dates and number of people in your family and see what comes up. You can check the hotels against tripadvisor.com to see what others think about them before you book.

Cutting VERY close for lodging. Personally I'd try airbnb website as well as bidding on Priceline. HOWEVER, important for you to understand that you need to stay within Travel zones 1 & 2 to keep public transport costs down. ALL that you desire to see in London are within those zones. This maps denotes the zones:

Thank you for the site and zone information. I do not know anything about London so it will be helpful to know which zones to stay in. Really prefer to stay as close to the old town / city center as possible.

As you stated you know nothing about London, let me suggest you buy and read Rick's guidebook on London. Easy read and SO full of practical information. Will make your trip planning so much easier. Great city. Enjoy your short visit.

My family is staying in Kensington next week at a flat we rented through www.airbnb.com. It seems to have many more family friendly options than most hotels and at reasonable prices.
