Is there usually a long line to get on the bus? We are traveling the first part of next month, July 2012,and wondered what kind of time to allow for the 1st Hop ON!
Also, If you book the yellow tour, for instance, can you get on the Blue tour bus, at some point or must you stick with the original tour colored bus?
Sandy,
We were in London 3 weeks ago and had no problems getting on a bus. We were lucky and also were able to get seats up top everytime. We did the 48 hours package and rode both the Yellow and the Blue bus, by accident. We never had anyone question us, but that should not promise you a similar treatment. We also jumped on a bus after our 48 hours had expired. The drivers just glanced to see that we had an actual receipt/ticket and never viewed the details on paid "pass".
Hi Sandy, No lines except at the very most popular stops like the Tower and Marble Arch. We rode it on a 48 hour pass for a Saturday/Sunday at the end of May and found the London traffic lighter than expected when we used the pass for transportation the second day. No problems but you will be stopping and loading and unloading for several minutes at every single stop- wastes a good bit of your tour. I could not imagine how long it would take to get around town on a business day. Commentary was OK but it might be more time efficient to take a regular overview bus tour. DO wear sunscreen!
