London Eye -- worth it??

We'll be in London the first part of June. I'd love to hear whether people liked the London Eye or not. Also, any idea how crowded it is in early June(6-8) & if we should have advance reservations. Thanks!

Definitely worth it. I was in June and took the ride on a beautiful evening about 8:15 pm. No reservation and no line. One of my favorite photos of me was taken on the Eye. The photo is now on my credit card. I would go again. Have fun. London is fantastic.

It is OK. Glad I went once. Would not do it again. It is a ferris wheel ride but only one trip. And a great view for maybe ten minutes. The bloom is off so the crowds are reasonable except for mid day. Do the evening as someone suggested.

We didn't ride it our first trip to London, and I regretted it. On our second trip, we rode it and really enjoyed it. I don't think I would do it again for awhile (we didn't ride it our 3rd time in London), but it was worth doing. We also rode it when it was not crowded (there were 2 other people in our "bubble") and crowds might have changed the experience.

Rode it late on a December day when the sky was blue and the sun was setting. My better half had never been to London and he still talks about seeing Parliment light up and the view from the Eye, so, yes give it a try.

The day we went it was drizziling so we did not get the best views. But had a lot of fun and met a couple from England that was in our pod. It wasn't crowded at all. I would love to ride it again on a clearer day or in the evening. Enjoy your trip.

Its pricey but worth it. I rode it 2x's. During the day, and once as sunset.

No need for reservations. The queue moves and the capsules holds 2 or 3 families. Its like waiting inline at Disneyland! :)

I would rather have spent the time on something else. To me it was no big deal, it was VERY hot in the capsule (mid-May), very crowded and took up way too much time.

wife and I skipped it, the view from the top of St.Paul's cathedral was good enough for us.

Weather permitting, absolutely worth it. Twice. Once during the day, once at night.

I also skipped it. Mostly because I'm more interested in the old than the new.

...but you can get some great views of "the old" from up there...

Well, going to London for my third time, and I will skip it again,, seems boring to me.

Grew up in England, and we went to London at least twice a year as children to have arts and culture thrust at us by my mum! Last year when we visited London we went up the Eye and I thought the views were spectacular. I have never seen London from that viewpoint before and it gave me a better idea of where everything is in relation to everything else. As longs as its a good clear day I think it is worth it [and as long as the line ups arent to long]

I really enjoyed it, but then I have a thing for ferris wheels. We went around dusk, which was a terrific time to go as the light was perfect. The views of London are excellent.

I will say that if I had a limited time to spend in London, I would probably not devote the time to it. I certainly wouldn't pass up the British Museum or Westminster Abbey or Cabinet War Rooms, etc to do London Eye. When we went on it, it was our second time in London and we had plenty of time.

I thought it was OK, but London is much more interesting from the ground than from above, at least to me. It isn't much of a town for skyscrapers, and you get well above the height of surrounding buildings. If you feel like a short break, and the 17 pounds doesn't put you off, then it's nice to do.

I loved it - you should go once. Go late in the evening, so you can see the incredible views as the lights come on.
