London-Edinburgh train-seating question

My wife and I are taking the 9am train from London Kings Cross to Edinburgh in March. Any seating suggestions? Is the quiet coach that much different? What is the better side regarding scenery? Left (west) or Right (east). Thanks

We prefer the right side to see the Channel as you approach Edinburgh. If you can choose your seats, look at a seating chart to position yourselves directly at a window. Taking a snooze is also perfectly acceptable....

Yes, I agree you want to be on the right (East) side. I was not in a quiet car and it was fine and not particularly noisy. Maybe Nigel will comment. Pam

You rang? I'll just say its been over 15 years since I rode that route, so memory is foggy. I'd agree that the view of the North Sea as you get north is good. The train is quite fast. Quiet zones are about electronics, not about people speaking quietly.

Hah, so you can talk noisily to your travel companions who are with you, but not to the one who stays behind in London to catch some more shows. ; ) Pam

The quiet coach really is quiet as people in it don't speak loudly as well.
