London Eats

My husband, son and I will be staying over one night at the Hilton near St. Pancreas International before catching the Eurostar to Paris the next morning. Does anyone have any recommendations for a decent restaurant within walking distance of the Hilton Euston. The train station actually looks to have many interesting places to eat. Any suggestions or has anyone ate at the station?

If you fancy something more local than eating in a station you are only about 5 minutes walk from Drummond Street.

There's a nice pub there - the Crown and Anchor - which does food until 10 in the evening. Their rather garish website has a map and sample menu

There are also a number of Indian restaurants in the street and I've had good meals at both the Diwani Bel Poori and the Ravi Shankar. However,I've not been for a couple of years and both get some terrible reviews on the web.

(The reviews are so bad - eg 'I'd rather eat a rat' - that I wonder whether there is a publicity war going on between restaurants in the street, with staff posting against rivals. I've absolutely no evidence for this other than that both of them were good deals two years ago.)

Anyway, if you were to aim for the pub you could have a look at the restaurants and make your own judgement.

Cheers

My husband and I really like Pizza Express, and I'll bet there is one close to your hotel or the St. Pancras station. Check out their website for locations.
